Job Title: Locum Physician - Thoracic Surgery

Join a respected facility in Richmond, Virginia, as a Locum Thoracic Physician. This opportunity allows you to make an immediate impact at a well-established hospital known for its acute care services. The practice operates in a hospital-based setting and is equipped with 21 operating rooms and a supportive ancillary staff, including OR and ICU support. You'll be part of a dedicated team providing care primarily to adult and geriatric patients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide thoracic surgical care, including but not limited to bronchoscopy, Robot-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, and Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS).
• Perform pre-operative and post-operative evaluations of patients.
• Manage incidental care requirements such as tube thoracostomy and tracheostomy.
• Collaborate with ancillary staff to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Participate in on-call coverage as needed.
• Document all patient interactions using the EPIC EMR system.
• Engage in continuous learning and adapt to new surgical techniques and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery.
• Active Virginia medical license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams and ancillary staff.
• Demonstrated experience in managing adult and geriatric patient populations.
