Locums Cardiovascular & Thoracic (CVT) Surgeon

We are seeking a highly skilled Locums CVT Surgeon to provide 24-hour call coverage in Idaho Falls, ID. The surgeon will manage a full spectrum of adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases, including emergent situations. The ideal candidate is experienced, confident, and fully capable of independently performing critical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 24-hour call coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM
• Manage all adult cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases
• Perform emergent and elective procedures
• Collaborate with surgical, cardiology, and critical care teams
• Consult on inpatient cases as needed

Required Surgical Competencies:

• Must be able to perform open heart surgery
• Must be able to perform CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting)
• Must be able to manage aortic dissections
• Must be competent in all adult cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures

Requirements:

• Active Idaho medical license
• DEA and CSR certifications required
• Board Certification by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (current and active)
• Proven experience covering the full range of adult CVT surgical cases
