Join Our Team as a Surgery Cardiovascular Physician – Make a Difference in Critical Care!

Are you a highly skilled cardiovascular surgeon ready to take on a pivotal role in a dynamic, high-stakes environment? We are seeking a dedicated Surgery Cardiovascular Physician to provide expert surgical care in a Level II Trauma setting, starting January 12, 2026. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with cutting-edge procedures and contribute to life-saving interventions while advancing your professional journey.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in complex cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries, including cardiac valve repairs, CABG, TAVR, and minimally invasive techniques. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team committed to excellence, working a Monday to Friday schedule with a comprehensive call rotation, including overnight and weekend shifts. Our facility handles predominantly routine and specialized cases, offering a challenging and rewarding environment to showcase your expertise.

Required Skills:
  • Valid Minnesota License or IMLC certification.
  • Proven experience in cardiothoracic and vascular procedures.
  • Ability to perform CABGs, valve surgeries, TAVR, carotid endarterectomy, congenital and adult cardiac surgeries, and minimally invasive techniques.
  • Strong understanding of trauma surgery protocols.
  • Excellent surgical skills, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to high-pressure situations.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with robotic heart surgery.
  • Knowledge of heart failure procedures, LVAD implantation.
  • Familiarity with thoracoscopic and structural heart procedures.
  • Prior trauma surgery experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree with board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-residency experience in a similar setting.
  • Experience in trauma and emergency surgical procedures preferred.

Other Requirements:
  • Willingness to handle on-call duties, including 24-hour call rotations.
  • Must submit a complete application package, including all necessary certifications and licenses.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume trauma environment.
  • Travel reimbursements and licensure-related expenses are covered as applicable.
