We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Locums Neurosurgeon to join a growing neurosurgical program in Carbondale, Illinois. This opportunity offers a consistent full-time schedule while providing high-quality neurosurgical care to the surrounding community.

The ideal candidate is passionate about patient-centered care, demonstrates strong surgical expertise, and values collaboration within a multidisciplinary medical team.

Schedule: Full time, 183 24-hour shifts per year

Compensation: $4,500 per shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive surgical and clinical care for patients with neurological conditions
  • Perform a broad range of neurosurgical procedures with precision and clinical excellence
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient neurosurgical cases
  • Participate in call coverage as assigned
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in neurosurgery and apply best practices
  • Participate in the education and training of medical students and residents as needed

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Neurosurgery Residency Program
  • Board Certified in Neurosurgery
  • Active Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong surgical skills with experience across a wide range of neurosurgical procedures
