**Requirements**
- Minimum Board Certification: Eligible
- Fellowship: Required
- The Following Certifications Are Required: ABLS, ATLS
- License Requirement: Licensed in MO only
- Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days (can expedite if needed)
**Work Schedule**
- Provider will be required to cover all trauma and emergency general surgery but does not cover ICU.
- No supervision of advanced practice providers required.
- Schedule involves 3-5 day stretches over a weekend once a month with 4-8 shifts per month. (10hr days or 14hr nights)
**Specialty Skills Required**
- Skills in general surgery include laparoscopic surgeries such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplasty, and Nissen fundoplication.
- Proficient in trauma surgery, capable of handling complex procedures such as chest wall or pleural procedures, breast surgery, and various types of abdominal surgeries.
- Additional skills in vascular surgery including aneurysm repairs (thoracic and abdominal), arterial bypass, and vascular access devices.
- Surgical procedures for pediatric cases, including artesias (esophageal, intestinal, biliary), abdominal wall defects (gastroschisis, umbilical defects, hernia, omphalocele), diaphragmatic hernia, imperforate anus, and PDA ligation.
**Additional Information**
- Busy Level 2 Trauma Center and Level 1 STEMI center with approximately 2000 activations annually and ~80K ED visits.
- Facility has 30 ORs with 1 blocked trauma OR, second if needed, and a designated EGS room.
