Your Role With Us

Salem Health is seeking a board certified or board eligible cardiothoracic surgeon to join our cardiac program in a full-time capacity. The current team is comprised of two (2) heart surgeons, one (1) dedicated thoracic surgeon, and four (4) cardiac Physician Assistants performing over 350 heart procedures and 175 general thoracic cases, annually. Our facility offers state of the art operating rooms and Cath lab. Cardiothoracic surgeons with over five (5) years of experience preferred however, we still encourage recent graduates to apply as well as those that require J-1/H-1B visa sponsorship.

Our patients receive comprehensive medical services through our robust Salem Health Medical Group of more than 330 providers representing over 20 specialties, focused on enhancing the patient experience and providing higher levels of care coordination. Background/Expertise:

  • Graduated from an approved school of medicine
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Board Certification or eligibility in Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
  • Demonstrate experience and current competency, to include the performance of at least 100 general thoracic and/or cardiovascular surgical procedures during the past 24 months.
  • Demonstrate the performance of at least 100 cardiac surgery procedures in the past 24 months
  • Current unrestricted M.D. Oregon medical license
  • Current unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology preferred
