Job Summary:
HCA Florida Thoracic Surgery is seeking to employ a recently graduated fellowship trained thoracic oncology surgeon to join its busy team at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital. The surgeon will work with the Thoracic Oncology team at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital, and this position is appropriate for a surgeon recently completed training or in the early years of practice. The candidate has the opportunity to be mentored by a senior robotic thoracic surgeon.- Experience in robotic thoracic surgery is preferred.
- The clinical team includes 6 pulmonologists, medical oncologists and interventional radiologists. Surgeon will participate in the HCA FL Thoracic Tumor Board, and is expected to participate in the STS GTSD.
- Candidate will be part of Trinity's lung cancer navigation program through the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute (the cancer arm of HCA Healthcare). There is a formal Screening and Incidental Lung Nodule Program with centralized lung nodule management software.
- The team utilizes the robotic bronchoscope within the operating room, and the candidate can train to perform single anesthesia events of robotic biopsy and robotic surgery.
- Team also performs a wide range of esophageal surgery for benign and malignant conditions.
