Responsibilities of the Vascular Surgeon:

  • Evaluate patient histories and schedule consultations before surgeries.
  • Liaise with other physicians and perform the relevant tests before the surgery.
  • Treat conditions related to the veins, arteries, and other blood vessels.
  • Perform surgeries to repair veins and arteries and to treat other vascular trauma.
  • Consult with physicians and refer patients to other specialists if required.
  • Determine all risks associated with the surgery and clearly outline them for the patient.
  • Address all patient concerns and answer their questions as accurately as possible.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in vascular surgery as well as the broader medical field.
  • Schedule follow-ups to monitor patients’ well-being and to advise them on suitable aftercare measures and medication they might require.
  • Build relationships with patients and providing support to their families wherever possible.
