General Surgeon needed in Kansas
Located in Coby, KS
4 hours to Colorado Springs CO & Wichita KS
- Full time, permanent
- Primarily outpatient practice focus.
- Bread and Butter surgeries along with Endoscopy.
- When on call respond to Trauma at our Level 4 Trauma/ER.
- Employed position with a guaranteed base salary and full benefits package
- This Surgeon will be joining 2 other well established General surgeons who have been in the community for over 6-10 years
- Great life work balance with a 4 day work week, 6 weeks off per year, and 1/3 call
- Low call back volumes.
Compensation and Benefits Detail
- $400,000 - $450,000 base salary
- $10,000 Relocation allowance
- Sign on bonus - $10,000 per year of commitmentÂ
- $24,000 per year student loan repaymentÂ
- $4,000 CME per year
- Pay for malpractice, license, DEA and required certificates outside of CME.
- 5% contribution to 401 K
- 6 weeks off per year
Current Medical Staff
Citizens also employees a number of other medical providers including our large and vibrant primary care clinic that
has 8 physicians and 10 Advance Practice Providers (APP). The ER is staffed by our own group along with 3 additional full
time APPs. Our FPs do OB and performs their own C-sections. If candidate had experience or interest in GYN/OB, that
would be great! We also have started an in-house ortho program and have a hired a full time APP to administer and
support an Orthopedist who comes every other week for surgeries and procedures. Lastly we have visiting doctors
performing surgical procedures ie. ENT, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry.
Group consists of a community based, private not-for-profit 25 bed critical access hospital, a
family practice clinic, and a long-term care facility.
Hospital acute care admissions in 2021 totaled 975, outpatient visits totaled 650,000, over 1,596
surgeries/procedures were performed, 194 deliveries, and 3,345 ER visits. Healthcare group is served by a
thriving Specialty Clinic with over 41 specialty physicians from Salina, Kearney NE, Hays, Wichita, and Denver,

Colby is a rural community of 5,000 population located in Northwest Kansas. Colby resides in Thomas County and is
located on Interstate 70 with a total population of 8,000. In providing OB services for the surrounding region, the clinic
draws patients from a nine county area. Colby offers a quality lifestyle with affordable housing and an outstanding
public school system. A wide variety of outdoor sports and recreational attractions are available locally and within the
area. Colby is known as the Oasis on the Plains an image due to its progressive educational, medical, cultural and
commercial facilities.
