Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program Director & Surgical ICU Medical Director Opportunity in Phoenix, AZ
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Trauma and Surgical Critical Care physician to serve as Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program Director and Surgical ICU Medical Director. This academic leadership position combines trauma surgery, surgical critical care, fellowship administration, resident education, research, and oversight of the Surgical ICU within a high-volume Level I Trauma and Burn Center.

Full-time employed academic leadership position
Dual leadership role as Fellowship Program Director and Surgical ICU Medical Director
Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care practice
Faculty appointment with graduate medical education responsibilities
Direct report to the Chief of Trauma and Department Chair
Leadership of an ACGME-accredited Surgical Critical Care Fellowship
Clinical & Leadership Responsibilities:
Provide trauma, emergency surgery, and surgical critical care services
Direct the Surgical ICU
Lead and administer the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program
Supervise and educate fellows, residents, and medical students
Participate in trauma and acute care surgery call
Develop curriculum and ensure ACGME program compliance
Participate in clinical, translational, or basic science research
Collaborate with multidisciplinary trauma and critical care teams

MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgical Critical Care
Completion of an accredited General Surgery residency
Completion of an accredited Surgical Critical Care fellowship
Eligible for Arizona medical license
Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and research experience
Experience in trauma, emergency surgery, and surgical critical care
