North/Coastal Florida - Trauma Surgeon to join our dynamic trauma and acute care surgery team with the only trauma center. Level II trauma center and pursuing Level II verification by the American College of Surgeons. Fulltime role with 15 shifts per month: 12-hour primary in-house coverage, plus 12-hour back-up (rarely called in) The acute care surgery team has six advanced practice professionals, with 24-hour APP coverage General surgery and emergency medicine residents rotate on the service The program participates in TQIP and TQIP collaboratives 2,000+ trauma patients in 2021 Covers all general surgery call for the hospital Qualified Candidates: Board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care Have, or be able to obtain, an unrestricted license to practice in Florida - not subject to any restrictions, probationary terms or conditions No history of license to practice being revoked, restricted or suspended by any professional licensing agency in any state or jurisdiction Have current, unrestricted DEA registration Incentive/Benefits Package: Employment position Highly competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, short & long term disability options, 401k and more CME time / allowance Occurrence-based malpractice Hospital A full-service, acute-care hospital with 365 beds including 10 ORs and 28 ICU beds Ongoing expansion projects for 400+ total inpatient beds, and an additional 20-bed ICU 44 bed emergency department with 2 dedicated trauma bays with 112,000 annual patient visits About Jacksonville, FL area: With over 200 days of sunshine per year, no state income taxes, lower cost of living, proximity to 22 miles of beaches, the largest urban park system in the nation, world-class fishing, vibrant street arts scene, and local distilleries and craft breweries, the Jacksonville area is a top destination to work and live.
