Job Description

Last Update: 7/02/18

Health Network is seeking to recruit a Trauma/Surgical Critical Care/Acute Care Surgeon to work with the Health Network, based out of a local Medical Center in Upland, PA.

This is a full-time opportunity at a 424-bed tertiary care community based teaching hospital. The Medical Center is a level II Regional Trauma Center, accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation and an ABA-verified adult and pediatric Burn Center. The Trauma Center treats approximately 2300 trauma and burn cases per year with a robust mix of blunt and penetrating trauma cases. The Regional Burn Center is separately covered by independent burn surgeons, however all burns arriving from the field are first evaluated by the trauma team.

The trauma service is supported by dedicated surgical residency housestaff and full-time advanced practitioners. The trauma team is also supported by three full-time neurosurgeons, a dedicated orthopedic team and other subspecialists such as vascular surgery, interventional radiology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, and OMFS. The trauma group also participates in acute care surgery coverage.

This position will include responsibilities in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Acute Care Surgery as well as administrative responsibilities. The applicant must be fellowship trained in surgical critical care and be board certified (or eligible) in general surgery. A background and/or a strong interest in clinical research is a definite plus.

This is an employed position through the Health Network. The Network is a well-integrated major provider of a full spectrum of wellness, prevention, acute care, rehabilitation and restorative care to the community, as well as being the largest employer in Delaware County, PA.

Offering competitive salary, liability malpractice insurance, paid tail coverage and other excellent benefits.
