Job Responsibilities
• Summary of the ideal candidate: a great scientist and a great surgeon.
• Clinical Care: Providing evidence based, high quality care in clinical teams that enhance the patient experience with a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
• Teaching: Education of surgery residents and medical students.
• Research: Candidates with experience in clinical trials and health services research are encouraged to apply.
• Call: Expected to take call for the colorectal service and provide consultation or assume care for colorectal patients seen by the acute care surgery service.
• Other: Participate in University service, faculty meetings, monthly Grand Rounds and M&M conferences; contribute to quality assurance programs and continuing education; and advance the mission of the Section and Division of Surgical Oncology.
• Primary Location: Mission Bay and Parnassus campuses of UCSF with endoscopy performed at outpatient centers.
Qualifications
• Board certified by the American Board of General Surgery.
• Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
• Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery – completed by time of hire.
• Colonoscopy, advanced laparoscopic procedures, and robotic surgery.
