Locums – Boise, Idaho, Cardiothoracic Surgery Opening

Clinical Role

• ASAP-November 2, 2026
• Must be available for significant coverage between ASAP -November 2
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Approximately 3 patient consults per day
• Approximately 1-2 surgeries per day
• Adult Cardiac and General Thoracic Surgery coverage
• TAVR and SAVR cases

Schedule & Coverage

• 7:00 am-7:00 am coverage
• Expedited credentialing/privileging may be available

Procedures

• Adult Cardiac Surgery
• General Thoracic Surgery
• Aortic dissection
• CABG
• Heart valve repair/replacement
• Tube thoracostomy
• Pericardial window
• Thoracotomy
• Lung resections and pneumonectomy
• VA and VV ECMO placement

Practice Setting & Support

• Established 3-surgeon Cardiothoracic Surgery practice
• 7 APPs
• 4 PAs rotating to provide OR support
• 4 perfusionists
• Dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgery OR
• Dedicated CVICU and step-down unit
• Epic EMR

Requirements & Credentialing

• Active Idaho license required
• MD or DO required
• Successful completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited residency and Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship required
• American Board of Surgery or American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification required, or ability to obtain certification within 3 years
• ACLS required
• Clean background and malpractice history required
• Must obtain privileges at the primary facility and affiliated hospitals as needed
