🫀 Cardiothoracic Surgeon Opportunity

Academic Health System | Florida Panhandle

An established, mission-driven healthcare system in the Florida Panhandle is seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a growing integrated cardiovascular service line within a collaborative academic environment.

This is a unique opportunity to help build a regional destination for complex cardiothoracic surgery, combining high-acuity clinical care with academic leadership, research, and innovation.

🔧 Position Overview

  • Full spectrum adult cardiac and thoracic surgery
  • On-pump & off-pump CABG, mitral repair, arrhythmia surgery
  • Endovascular & open aortic surgery (including dissection repair)
  • Minimally invasive and robotic thoracic procedures
  • Lung resections, esophagectomy, and complex foregut procedures
  • Participation in a growing, high-acuity cardiovascular program

📊 Program Highlights

  • ~400 heart surgeries annually
  • High-volume TAVR program
  • Lead extraction referral center
  • 1:4 call schedule
  • Strong APP support (5 APRNs)
  • Established, collaborative cardiology team:
    • Interventional, non-invasive, electrophysiology, and vascular specialists
  • Monday–Friday practice (8–5)

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Completion of General Surgery Residency + Cardiothoracic Fellowship
  • Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Eligible for Florida medical licensure
