We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Nashville, TN. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment providing advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical care.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Perform cardiac and thoracic surgeries (CABG, valve repair/replacement, lung resections, minimally invasive procedures)

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage cardiovascular and thoracic conditions

Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care

Collaborate with cardiology, pulmonology, anesthesia, and ICU teams

Participate in on-call rotations and emergency surgical cases

Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory compliance

Additional Responsibilities
Perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH)

Manage CTICU patients, including ventilator and hemodynamic support

Interpret imaging (CT, MRI, echocardiograms, angiograms)

Assist with cardiopulmonary bypass procedures

Support advanced procedures (TAVR, ECMO)

Lead multidisciplinary case discussions and mentor staff

Participate in quality improvement and research initiatives

Qualifications

MD or DO from an accredited medical school

Board Certified / Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery

Active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license (required)

Completion of Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship

Valid DEA license

Minimum 6 years of surgical experience preferred

Working Hours

Flexible day and night shifts

Includes weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage

Skills

Minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery experience

Strong clinical judgment and decision-making

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
