We are seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania. This role focuses on weekend 24-hour call coverage, managing urgent cardiac surgical cases in a high-acuity hospital setting with strong team support.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

• Provide cardiothoracic surgical coverage during on-call shifts ❤️‍🔥
• Perform urgent and emergent cardiac surgeries (cath lab → OR) 🔪
• Manage pre- and post-operative patient care, including ICU cases 🏥
• Oversee patient progression from ICU to discharge
• Collaborate with PAs, hospital staff, and multidisciplinary teams 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️
• Ensure accurate documentation using EPIC EMR 💻

🗓️ Schedule Highlights

• Start Date: May 10, 2026 📅
• Ongoing assignment
• 3 weekends per month 🗓️
• Shift: Friday 12 PM – Monday 7 AM
• 24-hour call coverage throughout the weekend ⏰

🎓 Qualifications

• MD/DO degree
• Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Active Pennsylvania medical license (or willingness to obtain)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• DEA certification required

• Strong background in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
• Comfortable managing urgent/emergent surgical cases independently
• Experience with ICU-level patient management
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system
