Coverage Needed
- Start Date: As soon as credentialed
- End Date: Ongoing for 6 months, with potential to extend
- Schedule: Up to 2 weeks per month; Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM
- Call Schedule: Every other weekend for call and rounding; Estimated 1:2 weeknight call
Clinical Details
- Practice Setting: Inpatient
- Types of Cases: Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG), Aortic/Mitral valve replacement/repairs, Ascending aortic root work, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), routine lung/lobectomy, mediastinoscopy
- Bed Size: 347-bed hospital
- Average Daily Census: 10-12 inpatients/up to 17 office patients
- # of Hearts per year: 218 in 2024 & 147 through August 2025
- EMR: EPIC
- Support Staff: APPs help as first assist and with rounding, RNs + RNFA, MAs, 1 other CT Surgeon
- Call: whoever takes call on the weekend will take Weds/Thurs call the following week; (opposite provider will be on call for Mon/Tues, Fri-Sun; rotate weekly)
- Rounding: approximately 4-5 hours each day (10-12 pts)
Requirements
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS through American Heart Association, in-person only
- Licensure: PA State License or IMLC with LOQ in hand
- Minimum Commitment: 2 weeks per month
- Experience: Required in CT Surgery; Robotic experience preferred
