Cardiac Surgery Physician – Locum Tenens (FTE)
Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery | Location: Coon Rapids, MN | Start: 4/13/2026 | Length: 13 weeks (flexible)
Pay: $4,000–$4,300/day plus call back rates!
Schedule & Coverage:
- M-F, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, standard 10-hour day
- 1 in 3 call rotation (includes day shifts, overnight 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM, and weekend 24-hr call)
- Priority coverage dates: Mar 16–22, Mar 30–Apr 5, Apr 20–26, May 4–10
Requirements:
- Minnesota State License (IMLC accepted)
- Proficient in cardiothoracic and vascular procedures
- Clean record for emergency/temporary coverage
Procedures Include:
- Coronary artery bypass surgery (CABs)
- Cardiac valve repair/replacement
- Aortic aneurysms & dissections
- Atrial fibrillation surgery
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Congenital heart surgery
- Minimally invasive & robotic heart surgery
- LVAD and heart failure surgery
- Pacemaker implantation
- Thoracoscopic surgery
- TAVR/Structural Heart procedures
Additional Details:
- Acute care hospital, Level II trauma
- Predominantly routine cases; oncology lung cases go elsewhere
- No electrophysiology cases
- ASAP start available for emergency temps
