Coverage Needed
- May 25, 2026 - Ongoing
- Schedule: One to two weeks per month (Mon-Mon), clinic and 24-hour call
- Shift: Day, 9:00 - 15:00
- Coverage Type: Scheduled + On Call optional
Clinical Details
- Perform a wide array of cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass surgery, aortic surgery, valvular surgery, atrial fibrillation management procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and endovascular aneurysm repair
- Provide pre- and post-operative care
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Clinic hours: 9 am - 3 pm, 2-3 days per week
- Rounding at the hospital with no active surgeries on the books
- Trauma Level: Adult II, III, IV
- EMR: Epic
- Support Staff: Several APPs available during the week in the clinic and hospital
Requirements
- Board-eligible or certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
- Active VA License and DEA
- Completion of an accredited general surgery residency followed by a residency in cardiothoracic surgery OR an accredited integrated general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery residency
- Proficiency in a wide range of cardiothoracic procedures
- Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care
