Locum Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgeon (Call Coverage)

Bon Secours Mercy Health – Springfield Regional Medical Center is seeking a Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgeon to provide call coverage for multiple scheduled blocks in 2026.

Coverage Dates

• March 13, 2026 (7:00 AM) – March 23, 2026 (7:00 AM)

• April 3, 2026 (7:00 AM) – April 13, 2026 (7:00 AM)

• April 27, 2026 (7:00 AM) – May 4, 2026 (7:00 AM)

• May 15, 2026 (7:00 AM) – May 25, 2026 (7:00 AM)

Facility & Practice Setting

• Full-service acute care hospital

• 100% adult, hospital-based practice

• 250 total beds; 60 ICU beds

• Onsite lab and imaging

• EMR: Epic

• Team includes 1 physician and 2 mid-level providers

Required Procedures & Skills

• General cardiothoracic and vascular surgery

• Coronary artery bypass grafting

• Congenital defect repair

• Valvular repair and replacement

• Aneurysm repair

• Lung resections (including VATS)

• Chest wall and pleural procedures

• Esophageal and diaphragm surgeries

• Carotid and renal endarterectomy

• Bronchoscopy

• Ventilation management

• Evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified (required)

• Active Ohio medical license (required)

• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)

• Clean malpractice and credentialing history (required)

• COVID vaccination (required at name clear)

• Ability to cover listed dates (required)

• NPDB self-query dated within 30 days of presentation (required)
