🫀 Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon Opportunity
📍 Hartford, CT

🏥 Facility Setting: Hospital-based academic medical center | Level I Trauma Center | High-acuity inpatient cardiothoracic surgery service

✨ A full-time locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon opportunity is available in Hartford, Connecticut, covering a leave of absence with a 3–6 month assignment and strong potential to extend further into 2026 or transition to a permanent role.

🩺 Position Overview

• Hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery covering OR, ICU, ER, and inpatient floors

• Adult and geriatric patient population

• Average 2 surgical cases per day

• Supported by a full complement of ancillary staff

• Epic EMR

• Teaching hospital environment

⏰ Schedule & Call

• Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

• Night and weekend call rotation (approximately 7–8 calls/month)

• Call shared among 3 providers

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• CABG (on-pump and off-pump)

• Redo coronary revascularization

• Heart valve repair and replacement

• Thoracic and descending aortic aneurysm repair

• Arterial revascularization techniques

• Pericardial window and tube thoracostomy

• Structural heart procedures including mitral valve repair

✅ Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Active Connecticut medical license

• BLS & ACLS

• Comfortable managing complex cardiothoracic and trauma-related cases

• Able to participate in nights/weekend call rotation
