Locums | Cardiothoracic Surgery | Call Only | Tucson, AZ Why This Role

  • Highly specialized cardiothoracic call need supporting CABG and complex valve cases
  • Short-term assignment covering a restructuring department
  • High-acuity case mix with established support resources
Assignment Details Coverage Dates: January 1, 2026 – March 1, 2026 Coverage Type: Call only Practice Setting: Inpatient cardiothoracic service Call Type: Beeper; 30-minute response time Call Volume: To be determined Patient Mix: Assigned and unassigned patients Duties: Full cardiothoracic call including CABG, aortic/mitral/tricuspid valve surgery, and related perioperative management Admissions: Required Hospital Privileges: Not required Temp Privileges: Available Facility Will Accept Multiple Providers: Yes EMR: Cerner Trauma Level: Not designated Stroke Certification: Yes Clinical Details Adult cardiothoracic surgical coverage CABG, aortic/mitral/tricuspid valve procedures General and vascular surgery skills preferred across multiple subspecialties Laparoscopic and endoscopic capability preferred Chest tubes, central lines, ventilation management preferred Support staff includes RN support and surgical office staff Beds in Department: To be determined Typical clinical workflow determined by call demand and surgical caseload Requirements Board Certification Required License: AZ license only Certifications: ACLS required Credentialing Timeline: 60 days Clean professional history preferred Advanced procedural background strongly preferred due to acuity Supervision of APPs required Admissions and inpatient management required Compensation Rates: Facility is accepting bids Malpractice: Provided Travel: Reimbursed
