Locums Cardiothoracic Surgeon | Hartford, Connecticut

A hospital-based practice in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon for locum tenens coverage. This opportunity includes OR, ICU, and patient rounding across the ER and hospital floors, with flexible coverage and a supportive team environment.

Dates of Coverage: February–March for a 3–6 month assignment, with potential extension into 2026 or permanent hire

Reason for Coverage: Leave of absence and provider departure

Practice Setting: Hospital-based, all inpatient OR, ICU, and rounding of patients in ER and floors

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 AM – 5:00 PM Night and weekend call TBD, approximately 7–8 calls per month Call ratio: 3 providers sharing call

Case Load: Average of 2 cases per day Trauma Level I designation Annual ER volume: 85,000 patients Number of operating rooms: 3

Documentation & Staff: EMR: EPIC Full complement of ancillary staff

Patient Population: Adult and geriatric

Requirements: Board Certified – Required BLS and ACLS – Required Active Connecticut medical license – Required Local provider – Required
