Job description
Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting an experienced Cardio Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to work locum shifts in Pamona New Jersey (NJ). Starting as soon as possible, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.
Cardiothoracic Surgery role:
Dates of Coverage: As soon as credentialed
Schedule:
- Weekdays: Monday–Friday, 8–10 hour in-house shifts
- Night Call: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Friday 6:00 PM through Monday 6:00 AM; rounding Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
Required Procedures:
- Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit
- Endoscopic vein harvesting
- Chest tube insertions
- First assist in cardiac surgery
Required Duties:
- Rounding and coordination of care
- Assist in surgery
- Diagnose and treat illnesses
- Order and interpret tests
- Write prescriptions
- Suture removal
EMR: Cerner & GE Viewpoint
Requirements of the Cardiothoracic Surgery role:
- NJ license, active and unrestricted.
- NCCPA-Board Certified
- NJ CSR
- BLS, ACLS
- Must be able to perform vein harvesting and first assist
