Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon Opportunity
Michigan Group seeking a locum Cardiothoracic Surgery physician to provide essential coverage during a recruitment gap. The role involves managing cardiothoracic surgical services, including cardiovascular and trauma cases, within a well-supported clinical environment. This assignment offers full access to cath lab capabilities, a dedicated surgical suite, and advanced practice provider coverage.
Dates / Schedule

Coverage Period: November 24, 2025 – February 27, 2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday + weekend coverage (Saturday & Sunday)

On-Call: 24-hour call; holiday call paid at 1.5×
-
Orientation: Paid at ½ of hourly rate
Job Details / Responsibilities

Provide cardiothoracic surgical coverage for cardiovascular and trauma services

Average 5 patients per day
-
Work within a fully staffed clinic with RNFA and APP support

Utilize full cath lab capabilities and a dedicated cardiothoracic surgical suite

EMR: Cerner

Procedures/Skills Required:

Aneurysm repairs

Thoracic surgery

Arterial bypass procedures

Peripheral vascular procedures

Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repairs

Bypass surgery
Additional Notes:

Car, fuel, mileage, and hotel covered up to $150 per day (including taxes)

Taxes no reimbursed on lodging and No third-party lodging bookings

Malpractice must be included in the submitted rates

Med Staff fees not reimbursed
Required Skills & Qualifications

Active Michigan medical license – Required

Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery – Required

Internally credentialed with the agency – Required

Clean background and no malpractice history – Required

Local to Michigan – Highly preferred
