Position Overview
A high-acuity cardiovascular program in Minnesota is seeking a Cardiovascular Surgeon for an ASAP or early January start. The schedule includes weekday OR time and a recurring call rotation. This role offers exposure to a broad and comprehensive cardiac case mix, including complex and minimally invasive procedures.
Schedule
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 1:3 call rotation
• During call weeks:
– Daytime coverage
– Overnight call (5 PM–7 AM)
– One 24-hour weekend call shift
Case Types
Predominantly routine cardiac cases, including:
• CABG
• Valve repair & replacement
Additional exposure includes:
• Aortic aneurysms
• Aortic dissections
• Atrial fibrillation surgery
• Carotid endarterectomy
• Congenital heart surgery
• Esophageal surgery (minimally invasive)
• Heart failure surgery
• Heart transplant surgery
• LVAD procedures
• Lung surgery
• Minimally invasive & robotic cardiac surgery
• Thoracoscopic surgery
Practice Setting
• Inpatient hospital setting
• High-volume cardiac and thoracic program
• Strong surgical, anesthesia, perfusion, and ICU support
Requirements
• Minnesota license or IMLC (required)
• Ability to handle high-acuity cardiac cases
• Experience with routine and complex cardiovascular procedures
• Comfort participating in structured call rotation
