Work Details:
- Support Staff: Comprehensive heart team including consultants, APPs, and specialized cardiac nursing staff
- Coverage Needed: Ongoing monthly coverage (details provided during interview)
- Patient Volume: Not overly busy—approx. 300 cases per year shared between two surgeons
- Patient Population: Adult cardiac patients
Department Overview:
This advanced cardiac program specializes in:
- Complex Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) – on/off-pump and multi-arterial revascularization
- Minimally invasive valve repair/replacement
- Transcatheter structural heart procedures (TAVR, TMVR, TEER, etc.)
- Arrhythmia surgeries and catheter-based interventions
- ECMO management
- ICU-level postoperative critical care
- Collaborative heart team–based decision making and shared patient management
Skills & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the full scope of adult cardiothoracic and structural heart surgery, including:
- Minimally invasive mitral and aortic valve procedures
- Transcatheter valve repair/replacement
- Arrhythmia surgery
- All aspects of CABG
- ECMO and advanced critical care
- Experience or fellowship training in Structural Heart preferred
- Strong ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
