A Medical Center is seeking a Locum-to-Perm Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiothoracic Surgery to provide coverage on a 2-week on/2-week off rotation. The role includes both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, with training and support provided.
Job Responsibilities
Perform inpatient (75%) and outpatient (25%) duties.
Cover weekend rounds (2 weekends per month) with 5–10 patients per round.
Participate in night call coverage (7 nights per week).
Support the surgical team in both pre- and post-operative care.
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR.
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Relevant training and experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery – Required
Active Virginia License – Required
Active DEA License – Required
Working Hours
Nights on call: 7 per week
Weekend rounds required (2 weekends per month)
Skills
Ability to manage pre- and post-operative patient needs
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Familiarity with EPIC EMR
