Job description
seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) Cardiovascular Surgeon to provide weekend beeper call coverage (Friday–Sunday) on a locum tenens basis. This role is purely call-only with no in-house requirements, and candidates must hold an active Texas medical license (IMLC not accepted). This opportunity is part of a long-term search for permanent placement, and privileges will take approximately 60 days from application submission.
- Weekend call coverage (1–2 weekends per month, Friday–Sunday)
- Beeper call only (20–30 minute response time)
- Provide phone consults and remote support for cardiovascular surgical cases
- Maintain availability for callback procedures as required
- Collaborate with existing team of 2 APPsBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular or General Surgery (within 5 years of residency)
- Active Texas license required (IMLC not accepted)
- ATLS certification required
- Minimum credentialing time: 60 days
- Strong background in cardiovascular surgical proceduresAneurysm repairs
- Thoracic and abdominal vascular surgery
- Bypass procedures (arterial, fem-pop, aorto-femoral)
- Endovascular procedures
- Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernioplastyWeekend coverage: Friday through Sunday
- Beeper call coverage only
- Average patients per shift: 7–10
