🏔️Cardiovascular Surgeon Locum – High-Acuity Cardiac Call in Colorado Springs, CO | Paid Travel + Lodging

Looking to bring your cardiovascular surgery expertise to the scenic heart of the Rockies? We’re seeking a Board-Certified Cardiovascular Surgeon for ongoing locum tenens call coverage in Colorado Springs, CO. This is a Level 1 trauma hospital where your advanced surgical skills will truly make an impact. Work alongside a dedicated team of two physicians and five mid-levels in a high-acuity, adult-only hospital setting.

🗓️ Schedule Overview:

• 1–2 weeks/month of 24-hour call coverage (6a–6a)

• Mix of weekends and vacation weekday call

• Ongoing need starting as soon as credentialed

• Flexible scheduling — specific dates set after offer acceptance

💼 Job Highlights:

• Average: 1–2 admissions/day, 8–10 ICU patients, 1–2 surgeries/day

• No thoracic backup during coverage

• Epic EMR | 12 ICU beds | 400-bed facility

🔧 Required Expertise:

• Open Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgery

• CABG (on-pump & off-pump)

• Congenital repairs (ASD, VSD, PFO)

• Valve repair/replacement

• Aneurysm repair (cardiac & aorto-thoracic)

• ECMO cannulation & stabilization

🔧 Preferred Skills:

• Central/arterial/PA catheter lines

• Acute BP/volume management

• IABP insertion

📝 Submission Requirements (Must be confirmed at name clear):

• Board Certified (CV Surgery)

• Active CO License or IMLC

• Able to perform all required procedures including dissections

• Recent case logs showing strong surgical volume

• ACLS/BLS (AHA only) – or willingness to obtain

• COVID-19 vaccinated

• Clean malpractice/background
