Cardiovascular Surgeon Opportunity Central Michigan
An exceptional opportunity is available for a full-time, board-certified Cardiovascular Surgeon to join a well-established and high-performing team in Midland, Michigan.
Position Highlights:
* Call Schedule: 1:3 with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) taking first call
* Practice Setting: Hospital-employed role within a high-volume, collaborative cardiovascular program
* Team Composition: Join a seasoned team of cardiovascular specialists, including interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, heart failure experts, and dedicated APPs
* Annual Surgical Volume: Approximately 450 cardiovascular surgeries per year across two coordinated locations
Candidate Requirements:
* Medical degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent)
* Board certified or board eligible in Cardiovascular Surgery
* Completion of a Cardiovascular Surgery fellowship with a minimum of five years of experience
* Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure and a Controlled Substance License in the state of Michigan
Reason for Recruitment:
To meet growing demand and support a thriving, high-acuity cardiovascular program. The practice is expanding by two surgeons due to procedural volume and robust medical staff demand.
Practice Environment:
The position is based at a comprehensive Heart & Vascular Center in Midland, Michigan, which has been serving the mid-Michigan region for over 13 years. This single cardiovascular program spans two locations and includes a network of 36 providers, with 28 based in Midland. The program offers full-spectrum cardiovascular services, including:
* Open Heart Surgery
* Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
* Advanced diagnostics and interventions
* Seamless coordination between surgical and non-surgical cardiovascular disciplines
APPs provide first call coverage and strong pre/post-op support, ensuring an efficient and well-supported surgical practice.
