NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, located on First Avenue & 97th Street in Manhattan, accommodate over 313,000 outpatient visits, nearly 70,000 emergency room visits and more than 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with New York Medical College.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a full time Breast Surgeon to work in our Surgery Department.

Our Breast Surgery Program has been NAPBC accredited since 2017, offering patients the latest advancements in breast cancer diagnosis. Enjoy a collegial working environment, with systemwide collaboration and support of radiation oncology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, dedicated rehabilitation medicine PT and OT support and a 150 year long standing multidiscplinary residency program. High risk screening program including genetic testing- and collaboration with MSKCC (Memorial Sloan Kettering) for IMPACT Genetic Testing through CHERP (Cancer Health Equity and Research Program)

Responsibilities Include:
- Direct clinical care including OR block time, including onsite minimally invasive procedures and outpatient clinic coverage
- Supervision and education of residents, medical students and junior members of the medical staff
- Oversee weekly breast oncology conference, allowing individualized and targeted plans of care
- Manage monthly NABC recommended multidisciplinary Tumor Board dedicated for breast pathology
- Survivorship and navigator support at Surgical, Rehabilitation Oncology Outpatient Levels
- Extensive outreach and educational programs through collaborations with Community Programs including JCC, Gilda’s club, ACS, AVON, SHARE Latina.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Board Certification in General Surgery Required
- Fellowship trained in Breast Surgery, Board Certification preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- NYS License Required
- Cultural sensitivity to a diverse and under-served patient population
- Must have proven ability to work in a team environment, with strategic planning experience

Compensation:


• Min USD: $232,603.00 Annually
• Max USD: $232,603.00 Annually
