Description
Healthcare United is seeking a Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Physician to join an established, physician-led private practice serving the Greater New Haven area and Connecticut shoreline.
This opportunity offers an established patient base, strong referral volume, multiple clinical locations and three operating sleep laboratories. The incoming physician will provide a combination of outpatient pulmonary and sleep medicine care, hospital rounding and limited ICU coverage.
The practice offers starting compensation of approximately $350,000–$375,000, with the opportunity to transition to productivity-based compensation and pursue future partnership and equity.

Job Responsibilities
• Evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary diseases, sleep disorders and complex respiratory conditions
• Participate in hospital rounding and limited ICU coverage
• Manage approximately 20–30 patients per clinic day
• Share hospital, weekend and after-hours call responsibilities with the physician team
• Perform or coordinate bronchoscopy, thoracentesis and other pulmonary procedures
• Participate in Inspire sleep apnea patient evaluation, activation and follow-up
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, medical assistants and administrative support staff
• Practice across established locations throughout the Greater New Haven and Connecticut shoreline area
Qualifications
• Critical Care Medicine and/or Sleep Medicine training strongly preferred
• Board Certification in Sleep Medicine preferred for physicians providing dedicated sleep medicine services
• Eligible for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license
• Experience with outpatient pulmonary care and hospital rounding preferred
• Bronchoscopy and thoracentesis experience preferred
• Comfortable working within a high-volume private practice environment
• Strong communication, clinical and team-based care skills
• Interest in establishing a long-term career in Southern Connecticut
Working Hours
• Primarily Monday through Friday outpatient clinic schedule
• Hospital rounding and limited ICU responsibilities
• Shared call rotation anticipated to be approximately 1 in 5
• Some weekend hospital coverage required
• After-hours calls are generally limited, with hospital intensivists managing most urgent ICU matters
• Schedule distributed among multiple Greater New Haven and shoreline practice locations
