We are seeking a Board-Certified Rheumatologist to provide locum outpatient coverage in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This role involves delivering comprehensive rheumatologic care in a collaborative clinical environment alongside experienced providers.
The physician will manage an average of 18 patients per day, addressing a range of rheumatologic conditions through evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule with clinic hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, offering flexible clinic sessions. Responsibilities also include participation in a 1:3 weekend call rotation and occasional evening call coverage.
This is a 24-week assignment with potential for extension, starting as soon as possible. The practice utilizes EPIC for electronic medical records and operates without advanced practice provider support.
Candidates must hold an MD, be board certified in Rheumatology, possess an active Massachusetts medical license, have a current flu vaccination, and be able to provide a recent direct supervisor reference.
Job Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive outpatient rheumatology care including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions 🩺
• Manage an average of ~18 patients per day while maintaining high-quality clinical standards 👥
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and follow-ups 💊
• Document patient encounters accurately using EPIC EMR 💻
• Collaborate with rheumatology and orthopedic providers to ensure coordinated patient care 🤝
• Participate in on-call coverage (1:3 weekends and rotating evenings) 📞
• Maintain timely and clear communication with patients, families, and care teams 🗣️
• Adhere to all clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines ✅
• Provide continuity of care and ensure proper patient documentation and handoffs 🔄
Qualifications
• MD (Doctor of Medicine) required 🩺
• Board Certified in Rheumatology ✅
• Active Massachusetts medical license 📍
• Current flu vaccination required (no exceptions) 💉
• Ability to provide most recent direct supervisor reference 📄
• Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient management skills 👩⚕️👨⚕️
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred 💻
