🏥 Position Overview
We are seeking a Board-Certified Rheumatologist for a full-time locum opportunity in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This role focuses primarily on outpatient rheumatology clinic coverage, working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical environment.
This assignment offers a structured weekday schedule, steady patient volume, and the opportunity to collaborate with rheumatology and orthopedic specialists.
👨⚕️ Eligible Provider
✔️ MD – Board Certified Rheumatologist
✔️ Active Massachusetts Medical License Required
✔️ Current / Most Recent Direct Supervisor Reference Required
🔎 Key Responsibilities
🦴 Provide outpatient rheumatology clinic care
📋 Diagnose and manage autoimmune and musculoskeletal conditions
👩⚕️ Evaluate and treat patients with arthritis, lupus, and related disorders
🤝 Collaborate with orthopedic providers and specialty teams
📑 Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC EMR system
🏥 Practice Environment
🏥 Established outpatient rheumatology practice
👨⚕️ Two rheumatologists currently on staff
🦴 Large orthopedic provider group onsite
🚫 No APP coverage in the department
💻 EPIC Electronic Medical Record system
📅 Schedule & Coverage
📆 Monday – Friday schedule
⏰ Clinic hours between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
👥 Average patient volume: ~18 patients per day
📊 Annual clinic volume: ~2000 patient visits
📞 Call Coverage:
• 1 in 3 weekends
• Rotating evening call
⚠️ Important Requirements
💉 Flu vaccination required (no exceptions or waivers)
📑 Active Massachusetts license required prior to start
