An exciting locum tenens opportunity is available for a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Rheumatologist to provide adult and geriatric care in a well-supported clinical setting. This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient clinic coverage and structured hospital call in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Join an established care team supported by experienced MA, RN, and administrative staff while utilizing EPIC EMR. This assignment is ideal for physicians seeking a flexible schedule, steady patient volume, and a rewarding travel opportunity in a welcoming Midwest community.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage 16–18 patients per day in clinic setting
• Perform joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
• Participate in 24-hour hospital call rotation (1:2 ratio)
• Provide consults and inpatient rheumatology care as needed
• Accurately document encounters using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical staff
Qualifications
• Fellowship-Trained in Rheumatology (Required)
• Active Michigan Medical License (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
• Ability to perform clinic and hospital-based procedures
• Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days at presentation)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
Working Hours
• 24-hour hospital call two weeks per month (1:2 call ratio)
• Weekend call required during assigned call weeks
• Ongoing assignment
