Seeking a Board-Certified, Fellowship-Trained Rheumatologist for a locum physician assignment providing adult and geriatric rheumatology care. This role includes outpatient clinic coverage with hospital-based call responsibilities. The position offers a balanced schedule, strong clinical support, and the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary care environment using Epic EMR.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform rheumatology procedures including joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
• Provide inpatient rheumatology consults as needed
• Participate in 24-hour hospital on-call coverage on a rotating basis
• Document patient care using Epic EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary teams
• Participate in quality and safety initiatives as requested
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Rheumatology – Required
• Fellowship-Trained in Rheumatology – Required
• Active Michigan medical license – Required
• BLS certification – Required
• Ability to perform joint aspirations and injections – Required
• NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – Required at presentation
• Clean malpractice and professional history
Working Hours
• Call Requirement: 24-hour hospital call, two weeks per month
• Call Rotation: 1:2
• Assignment Duration: ASAP – Ongoing (start dependent on credentialing timeline)
