🩺 Locum Physician – Rheumatology

📍 Jackson, Michigan

✨ A great locum Rheumatology opportunity for a Board-Certified, fellowship-trained Rheumatologist to step into a well-established outpatient clinic with hospital-based call. This role offers a balanced mix of clinic work and inpatient consult coverage, supported by an experienced care team.

🏥 Facility Setting

• Outpatient Rheumatology Clinic with hospital-based consult and call coverage

• Adult & geriatric patient population

• Level II Trauma Center

• Strong clinical support including MA, RN, and front-desk staff

• EPIC EMR

🩺 Position Overview

• Provide comprehensive rheumatologic care to adult and geriatric patients

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of rheumatologic conditions

• Perform joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections

• Conduct scheduled outpatient clinic visits

• Provide inpatient rheumatology consults as needed

• Participate in 24-hour hospital call on a rotating basis

• Collaborate closely with nursing and ancillary teams to ensure continuity of care

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC

⏱️ Schedule & Call

• Clinic Schedule:

  • 4 × 10-hour shifts or 5 × 8-hour shifts

• Call Requirement:

  • 24-hour hospital call

  • Two weeks per month on a 1:2 rotation

• Patient Volume:

  • Clinic: ~16–18 patients per day

  • Inpatient consults: ~1 per day on average

✅ Candidate Requirements

• Board Certified in Rheumatology

• Fellowship-trained in Rheumatology

• Active Michigan medical license

• BLS certification

• Comfortable with both clinic-based care and hospital consults

• Experience with joint injections and aspirations
