Ongoing Rheumatology Locum in Michigan- A mix of IP and OP Rheumatology with flexible scheduling

Henry Ford Jackson Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Rheumatologist to provide adult and geriatric care in a well-supported clinical environment. This is an ongoing locum tenens opportunity created by a current vacancy, with flexibility built into both clinic scheduling and call coverage.

This role offers an excellent balance of outpatient rheumatology clinic work combined with light hospital consult call, all within a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center.

Position Details

• Position: Locum Tenens Rheumatologist

• Specialty: Rheumatology

• Practice Setting: Office-Based Clinic with Hospital Call

• Start Date: ASAP (anticipated April start due to credentialing timeline)

• Coverage Duration: Ongoing

Schedule & Call

• Clinic Schedule:

  • 4×10-hour shifts or 5×8-hour shifts

• Call Requirement:

  • 24-hour hospital call

  • Tuesday–Monday

  • Two weeks per month

  • 1:2 call ratio

Patient Volume

• Clinic: 16–18 patients per day

• Hospital: ~1 consult per day

Procedures

• Joint aspirations

• Corticosteroid injections

Clinical Environment

• EMR: Epic

• Trauma Level: Level II

• Group Size: 1 Rheumatologist

• Support: Dedicated MA, RN, and Front Desk staff

Credentialing

• Timeline: 90–120 days

Submission Requirements

• Board Certified in Rheumatology
  

• Active Michigan Medical License

• BLS Certification - we can help with this.

• Ability to perform joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections

• Epic EMR experience (Preferred)

• Self-Query NPDB (dated within 30 days at time of presentation) (Required)
