Job description

Job description Rheumatic Wellness Institute is seeking a full-time Rheumatologist to join our thriving, physician-owned practice in vibrant Miami, Florida. You’ll collaborate with six supportive rheumatology providers in our center, which features an on-site infusion suite, ultrasound-guided injections, digital X-ray, PRP therapies, and an active clinical-research program. This is a 100 % outpatient role—no hospital rounds, night call, or weekend duties—with a four-day workweek (Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.) that fosters true life-work balance. Competitive base + productivity compensation, research revenue, and bilingual (English/Spanish) patient care make this an exceptional opportunity to practice leading-edge rheumatology while enjoying Miami’s rich culture and coastal lifestyle.

Job Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage a full spectrum of rheumatologic conditions (RA, PsA, SLE, gout, vasculitis, osteoporosis, etc.).
• Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with current ACR guidelines and evidence-based practice.
• Provide ongoing disease-activity monitoring, medication titration, and comorbidity management.
Infusion & Procedural Services
• Oversee and supervise biologic and non-biologic infusion therapies in our infusion suite, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform musculoskeletal ultrasound–guided joint aspirations and injections, tendon sheath injections, and soft-tissue procedures.
• Administer platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and other in-office regenerative or orthobiologic treatments.
Collaborative Teamwork
• Work closely with six fellow rheumatology providers, dedicated infusion nurses, RNs/MAs, research coordinators, and radiology staff.
• Engage in daily huddles and contribute to multidisciplinary case reviews to optimize patient outcomes.
Documentation & EMR Utilization
• Document all encounters, procedures, and orders accurately in eClinicalWorks meeting quality and billing standards.
• Complete documentation and sign-off within CMS guideliness to support same-week claim submission.
Clinical Research & Innovation Opportunities
• Participate in ongoing clinical trials—screening, consenting, and managing study patients with support from dedicated coordinators.
• Collaborate on protocol development, data collection, and publication of findings; attend investigator meetings as needed.
Patient Education & Engagement
• Counsel patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
• Create a welcoming environment for culturally diverse, bilingual (English/Spanish) patients.
Quality & Compliance
• Contribute to internal quality-improvement projects (e.g., treat-to-target dashboards).
• Maintain compliance with federal/state regulations, OSHA standards, and malpractice-risk protocols.
Practice Growth & Culture
• Support business initiatives such as community talks, referral-network engagement, and practice branding.
• Model the institute’s core values of collaboration, transparency, and life-work balance.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold an MD or DO from an accredited medical school and have completed both an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency and a Rheumatology fellowship. Board certification in Rheumatology is required, or board eligibility with the expectation of certification within two years of hire. A valid and unrestricted Florida medical license (or eligibility to obtain one), along with active DEA and Florida controlled-substance registration, is essential. Candidates should demonstrate clinical expertise in the diagnosis and management of rheumatic diseases, including experience with infusion therapies and musculoskeletal ultrasound–guided procedures. Proficiency with electronic health records—preferably eClinicalWorks—is expected, along with the ability to complete timely, accurate documentation that supports quality care and billing standards. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a patient-centered approach are also required.
