Jefferson Health New Jersey (JHNJ) is currently seeking applications for 2 full-time, employed Rheumatologists to join our growing physician group, Jefferson Medical Group. This is an opportunity to become part of an established Jefferson Health Rheumatology service line with a new ambulatory presence in Washington Township, NJ. The new Rheumatology practice will consist of 3 providers: 2 full-time physicians and 1 advanced practice provider (APP) to provide non-oncology ambulatory infusions.

This new state-of-the-art facility and comprehensive multi-specialty ambulatory practice will include the following services: Rheumatology, Otolaryngology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, General & Bariatric Surgery, and Vascular Surgery. Additionally, infusion services (non-oncology) and laboratory services will be co-located here. Located within one mile of the Jefferson Washington Township hospital campus, the Fish Pond Road II practice will foster surgical/procedural growth and serve patients across Gloucester County seeking high-quality care close to home.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating patients with rheumatic diseases and disorders in the outpatient care and consultation settings; prescribing medications and recommending dietary, activity, and rehabilitation programs; and communicating with referring physicians, patients and their families. Opportunity exists to teach and mentor JHNJ residents and Jefferson Health Rheumatology Fellows.

The candidate will become an integral member of a multidisciplinary health care team, joining a growing community medical group of over 325 physicians and advanced practice providers across the southern New Jersey region.

Minimum Requirements:

  • MD/DO degree or equivalent

  • Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency

  • Completion of an accredited Rheumatology fellowship

  • Must possess a license and be eligible to practice medicine in New Jersey by the time the appointment starts.

Jefferson includes Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health, a dynamic university and health system with broad reach across the Delaware Valley. Jefferson is the second largest employer in Philadelphia and the largest health system in Philadelphia based on total licensed beds.

Through the merger of Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia University in 2017, our University includes ten colleges and four schools. We are an NCAA Division II university and an R2 national doctoral university offering undergraduate and graduate-level programs that provide students with a forward-thinking education in architecture, business, design, engineering, fashion and textiles, health, medicine and social science.

Jefferson Health, the clinical arm of Thomas Jefferson University, has grown from a three-hospital academic health center in 2015, to an 18-hospital health system through mergers and combinations that include hospitals at Abington Health, Aria Health, Kennedy Health, Magee Rehabilitation and Einstein Healthcare Network. We have over 50 outpatient and urgent care centers; ten Magnet®-designated hospitals (recognized by the ANCC for nursing excellence); the NCI-designated Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (one of only 70 in the country and one of only two in the region); and one of the largest faculty-based telehealth networks in the country. In 2021, Jefferson Health became the sole owner of HealthPartners Plan, a not-for-profit health maintenance organization in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We are the first health system regionally to create an aligned payer-provider partnership.
