At LifeLong Medical Care, we believe everyone should have access to high-quality health and social services. LifeLong is currently looking for a mission-driven physician leader to innovate LifeLong’s inaugural Family Medicine Residency Program in Contra Costa County. If you are passionate about building tomorrow’s physician workforce, apply today!

To address the critical shortage of primary care physicians in the East Bay, LifeLong Medical Care has made a commitment to start a Family Medicine Residency Program based in a new interdisciplinary facility in Richmond, CA. The Residency Program Director, Family Medicine would be instrumental in developing a 12-18 resident (4-6 residents per year) program that will contribute to a physician workforce dedicated to improving health outcomes of vulnerable populations.

The Residency Program Director, Family Medicine will assist in developing and writing the accreditation application, support the Director of Academic Affairs/DIO (e.g., providing reports on all aspects of graduate medical education and clinical delivery services provided by the residents), and serve as a bridge to community hospital partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in improving socio-economic disparities and community health. Minimum requirements are at least two years of full-time Family Medicine faculty experience.

This is a rare opportunity to build a program that will fill a vital need and have significant impact on the quality of care delivery and health outcomes of this population. The Residency Program Director, Family Medicine will have access to the rich experiences of LifeLong’s extensive programs and high-quality and diverse medical staff.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Possession of an MD/ DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Current certification in the specialty by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).

  • Minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate clinical experience.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as teaching faculty in an ACGME-accredited family medicine residency program.

  • Current medical licensure in the state of California.
