Southeast Georgia Health System is seeking an experienced, motivated physician leader to serve as the founding Program Director for a new ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program in beautiful coastal St. Marys, Georgia.

This is a unique opportunity to build a program from the ground up with the full support of an established health system that is deeply invested in physician education and long term community impact. The Program Director will play a central role in shaping the culture, curriculum, and clinical training environment for the next generation of family physicians.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
• Ensure compliance with all ACGME, institutional, and regulatory requirements
• Develop and oversee curriculum, clinical rotations, and educational activities
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate core faculty
• Lead resident recruitment, selection, and ongoing evaluation
• Foster a supportive and academically rigorous learning environment
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and community partners to ensure strong clinical training sites
• Participate in patient care within the health system

Qualifications

Board certified in Family Medicine
• Minimum of three years of educational and or administrative experience, preferably within an ACGME accredited program
• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Georgia
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Strong commitment to resident education and community based care
