Diagnostic Radiologist – Locum Tenens Opportunity

A healthcare facility in Kissimmee, Florida is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Diagnostic Radiologist to provide ongoing onsite locum tenens coverage. This role offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work in a high-acuity regional trauma center with a diverse imaging case mix.

Schedule

Facility Overview

The facility operates as a regional trauma center with a high-acuity imaging environment. Imaging volume is heavily driven by emergency department and trauma cases, with frequent advanced CT and stroke protocol studies.

Imaging Modalities

Physicians will interpret studies across multiple modalities including:

  • Computed Radiography (CR / X-Ray)
  • CT
  • Ultrasound
  • MRI
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Mammography

Case Mix Breakdown

  • Primary (Approximately 75%)
    • X-ray and CT imaging
    • Trauma CT scans
    • Stroke protocol CT
    • Pulmonary embolism CT studies
  • High Support (Approximately 20%)
    • Ultrasound studies including:
    • DVT vascular studies
    • Gallbladder / right upper quadrant exams
    • Renal and abdominal ultrasound
    • Pelvic and obstetric imaging
  • Specialized (Approximately 5%)
    • MRI studies including:
    • Neuro imaging
    • Musculoskeletal imaging
    • MRCP
  • Lower Volume Studies (<5%)
    • Mammography including tomosynthesis and specimen imaging
    • Fluoroscopy
    • Nuclear medicine
    • Basic interventional procedures such as paracentesis and breast localization

Clinical Environment

Radiologists will work in a high-volume trauma setting with frequent advanced imaging studies including:

  • Trauma pan-scan CT imaging
  • CT angiography studies
  • Stroke pathway imaging including CT head stroke protocols, CTA head and neck, and CT perfusion
  • High musculoskeletal trauma imaging volume
  • Regular vascular and abdominal ultrasound studies

Productivity Expectations

  • Minimum productivity: 80 RVUs per shift
