Job description

Job description

A healthcare system is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist with experience in Mammography and Interventional Radiology to provide ongoing onsite coverage supporting a busy hospital imaging environment. This opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule and a diverse diagnostic case mix across emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient imaging services.

The radiologist will support a high emergency department driven imaging program where the majority of studies consist of radiography and CT related to trauma and acute neurologic evaluations. The site regularly performs CT head and trauma spine imaging along with CTA chest and CTA head and neck studies as part of stroke and pulmonary embolism evaluation pathways. Ultrasound studies include routine vascular and abdominal imaging, and the facility also supports breast imaging services and occasional interventional procedures. Physicians comfortable working in a fast paced diagnostic environment with a broad modality mix are encouraged to inquire.

Job Responsibilities

The radiologist will provide onsite diagnostic imaging interpretation across multiple modalities supporting emergency department and hospital imaging workflows. Responsibilities include interpreting high volumes of X ray and CT studies related to trauma, stroke evaluation, and pulmonary embolism workups. The physician will read CT head and trauma spine imaging as well as CTA chest and CTA head and neck studies performed for acute neurologic and vascular pathways. Additional responsibilities include interpreting ultrasound studies including vascular, abdominal, and pelvic imaging. The radiologist will also support breast imaging services including screening mammography interpretation and breast related procedures when needed. Occasional basic to moderate interventional radiology procedures may also be performed, including vascular access placement, thoracentesis, and image guided biopsies. The radiologist will work closely with clinical teams to ensure efficient imaging workflow and timely patient care in a high volume emergency driven setting.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
• Experience interpreting high volume CT and trauma related imaging studies
• Comfortable reading screening mammography and supporting breast imaging services
• Ability to perform basic to moderate interventional radiology procedures
• Experience with stroke and vascular imaging including CTA studies
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Working Hours

Onsite coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. The program requires approximately 17 weeks of coverage annually, and physicians able to assist with major and minor holiday coverage when scheduled are preferred.
