Job description

Job description

A healthcare system is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologist with broad general radiology experience to provide ongoing onsite coverage supporting a high acuity imaging environment. This opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule with coverage blocks of one to two weeks per month and exposure to a diverse mix of emergency, trauma, and inpatient imaging.

The radiologist will support a regional trauma center with a high volume of CT based trauma imaging and emergency department radiography. The imaging environment includes advanced stroke protocols, CT angiography studies, and trauma related spine imaging. Ultrasound volume includes vascular, abdominal, and obstetric studies, and the site supports a broader interventional radiology program compared to many community facilities. Physicians comfortable with a fast paced diagnostic workflow and a broad modality mix are encouraged to inquire.

Job Responsibilities

The radiologist will provide onsite diagnostic imaging interpretation across a broad range of modalities supporting emergency department, inpatient, and trauma imaging workflows. Responsibilities include interpreting high volumes of CT and X ray studies related to trauma and emergency care, including trauma pan scans, stroke imaging protocols, and CT angiography. The physician will also interpret ultrasound studies including vascular, abdominal, and obstetric imaging and contribute to the interpretation of MRI studies focused on neuro and musculoskeletal imaging. Additional responsibilities may include occasional mammography, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and basic interventional radiology related procedures such as paracentesis or breast localization when required. The radiologist will work collaboratively with clinical teams to provide timely and accurate imaging interpretations in a high acuity trauma center environment.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
• Experience interpreting a broad range of diagnostic imaging studies including CT and trauma related imaging
• Comfortable supporting stroke imaging protocols including CT head stroke, CTA head and neck, and CT perfusion
• Experience with musculoskeletal trauma imaging and high extremity radiograph volumes
• Ability to interpret vascular, abdominal, and obstetric ultrasound studies
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Working Hours

Onsite coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Coverage blocks typically consist of one to two weeks per month. Physicians able to assist with major and minor holiday coverage when available are preferred.
