🚨 Weekend Radiology – Long Beach, CA 🚨
High Volume | Onsite | 13+ Weeks | No Call
Busy hospital seeking Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist for weekend coverage (Sat–Sun, 8a–6p).
🔥 Must commit to 2 weekends/month
🔥 Read everything that hits the ED (CT/MRI/US/XR – including peds trauma)
🔥 Prostate reads HIGHLY preferred
🔥 150–180 reads/day on weekends
🔥 No nuclear, cardiac, or breast
Active CA license REQUIRED – no licensing available
DEA + BLS/ACLS required

No nuclear medicine

Qualifications
Board Certified in Radiology
Unrestricted California License (Required – no licensing available)
DEA Required
BLS or ACLS
Minimum 1+ year experience
📊 Clinical Volume & Expectations
Very busy/high-volume ED shifts
Weekday radiologists average 130–140 reads/day
Weekend volume averages 150–180 reads/day
Must read everything that comes in during shift
No work left for the next radiologist
There is another radiologist onsite 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, but the primary need is the full 10-hour shift.
Working Hours
Weekends Only (Saturday & Sunday)
8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (2x10-hour shifts)
No call
Must commit to minimum 2 weekends per month
Contract length: 13+ weeks
Start: ASAP (after credentialing – approx. 30+ days)
Skills
⚡ Prostate reads highly preferred.
⚡ Body imaging background preferred.
Pediatric radiologists are onsite M–F only; weekend ED radiologists must cover pediatric overflow/trauma as needed.
