✨ Position Overview
Title: Diagnostic Radiologist
Location: Long Beach, CA
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13+ weeks
Shifts: Weekends (Sat–Sun), 8am–6pm (10-hour shifts)
Coverage: Schedule only, no call
Rate: All-inclusive preferred
Positions: 1
🔥 Key Requirements
- Must read all ER studies (including peds trauma, MRI, CT)
- Prostate reads highly preferred
- Must be able to read everything that comes in during the shift
- At least 2 weekends per month required
- Onsite only
- Unrestricted CA license required
- Board Certified
- DEA required
- BLS or ACLS
- 1+ year experience
📅 Schedule Details
- Sat & Sun: 8am–6pm onsite
- High-volume environment
- Another radiologist onsite 8am–1pm
- Occasional short shifts may be available
- Prior to starting: 2 weekday onsite training/setup days (system setup + quality review)
📈 Workload & Case Mix
- Adult diagnostic radiologists average 14,000 wRVUs/year
- Typical reads: 130–140 per weekday, 150–180 on weekends
- Modalities include:
- MRI
- CT
- Ultrasound
- Plain films
- Heavier CT & X-ray volume
- No nuclear medicine, cardiac, or breast
- Body imager preferred
- Some peds overflow (peds radiologists cover weekdays only)

- Hospital-based, inpatient setting
- Supports two connected hospitals within the same health system
- EMR: EPIC
- Strong onsite support staff
