Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist for an onsite locum tenens radiology opportunity at a busy hospital-based imaging department in Charleston, West Virginia. This position is ideal for radiologists who thrive in a high-volume clinical environment and are skilled across general diagnostic imaging, fluoroscopy, and light interventional procedures.
The role offers a consistent weekday daytime schedule, no call, and no weekends, providing an excellent balance of professional fulfillment and predictable hours. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interpreting a wide range of imaging studies and performing basic image-guided procedures, including pediatric and infant fluoroscopic exams.
Job Responsibilities
• Interpret X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Fluoroscopy studies
• Perform fluoroscopic exams, including infant and pediatric barium enemas
• Conduct light interventional radiology procedures as needed
• Perform image-guided biopsies (thyroid, lung, bone, liver, renal; CT- and US-guided)
• Carry out drainage procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, abscess drainage, and chest tubes
• Perform lumbar punctures, myelograms, and joint arthrograms
• Collaborate with referring physicians and clinical teams to support timely diagnosis
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital quality standards
Qualifications
• Active West Virginia medical license or eligibility through IMLC
• DEA registration required
• Demonstrated proficiency in fluoroscopy, including infant and pediatric studies
• Experience with light interventional radiology procedures
• Ability to manage high daily imaging volumes efficiently
• Recent NPDB Self-Query report within required timeframe
Working Hours
• Day shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• No call responsibilities
• No weekend coverage
